On April 29-30, 2022, Baku Engineering University and the Academy of the State Customs Committee organized the VI International Scientific Conference of Young Researchers dedicated to the 99th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
At the conference, Malak Karimova, Head of Khazar University's Psychological Service Center and Coordinator of the Department of Psychology, delivered a speech on "How should psychologists' therapeutic communication skills be developed?”. The purpose of this study is to analyze the essence of the course "Psychological Counseling", organized to strengthen the theoretical knowledge of students majoring in psychology with practical skills, and to conduct a quantitative study of the skills they learned in the course. The research was conducted among Khazar University's undergraduate fourth-year students (n = 20) during the "Psychological Counseling" course in the 2021-2022 academic year. The course is based on the “Micro Skills Training” (Ivey, 2007). The author spoke at the conference, substantiating the essence of the research lesson and the results of the research.3
Malak Karimova delivered a speech at the conference on "Psychological bases of communication in the mediation process." She spoke about the mediation process in Azerbaijan, which began on January 1, 2021, and the communication skills needed to negotiate the development of professional skills of mediators. commented on issues related to what to focus on in order to develop the mediator's ability to communicate effectively.
