Seminar on "Treasures hidden in British archives: Azerbaijani manuscripts in the Gibb collection"

On October 19, 2021, Khazar University hosted a scientific seminar organized by the Department of Languages and Literature on "Treasures Hidden in British Archives: Azerbaijani Manuscripts in the Gibb Collection."

In the seminar moderated by Assoc. Prof. Khatira Yusifova, the lecturer of the department, Nagihan Gur, Assoc. Prof. of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature, Ankara University of Social Sciences, Turkey, delivered a speech on manuscript reading techniques, manuscripts of Azerbaijani, Ottoman, Iranian, Arabic authors in the Gibb collection and presentation of a monograph dedicated to Nizami Ganjavi in Germany in the early 19th century. She noted that the manuscripts and stone inscriptions scattered around the world, the words, way of life and magnificent heritage of the classics are studied from different approaches, but all of them are like drops in the ocean. It is still impossible to say that the manuscripts have been fully studied. Nagihan Gur emphasized that there are Azerbaijani manuscripts still waiting to be studied in the British archives.

At the end, the speaker answered the questions of the seminar participants on the topic.
