On April 19, 2018, H. E. Mr. Bert Schoofs, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium paid a visit to Khazar University on the invitation of the Department of Political Science and International Relations. Accompanied by Sevil Gahramanova, Ambassador’s assistant, H.E. Mr.  Bert Schoofs met with Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli, the founder of Khazar University, and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, Dr. Hassan Niknafs, Rector of Khazar University, and Elmar Mustafayev, Coordinator of the Department of Political Science and International Relations.

During the meeting, the Ambassador was informed on the historical background of the University as well as education and research opportunities and international relations of the University. Moreover, meeting participants discussed opportunities for student and teacher exchange, cooperation as well as bilateral programs and research activities with universities of Belgium.

H.E. Mr. Bert Schoofs expressed his eagerness to support the collaboration between Khazar University and the universities of Belgium. In addition, Ambassador was happy with the invitation for conducting a special seminar for the students of the Department of Political Science and International Relations.
