Dr. Jestin Mandumpal, a lecturer at the Department of Chemistry, has been awarded Chartered Chemist status (CChem) by the Royal Society of Chemistry, UK. Dr. Mandumpal has been a member (MRSC) of the organisation (a platform for promoting chemical sciences in public and practitioners of science for over a century) for ten years.

Chartered Status (CChem) is awarded to practising chemists for recognition of their knowledge and professionalism in chemical sciences.

CChem status attests demonstrated professional skills in chemical sciences, a strong commitment for improving those skills, critical contribution to the success of the institution the candidate currently employed, professional integrity, and advancement of excellence in science.

Dr Mandumpal currently heads the Computational Laboratory for Design and Optimisation of Materials (CLDOM).
