On December 1, 2017,Sabina Allahveranova, the Acting Manager of Career Center at Khazar University participated in a workshop on “Mapping Youth Transitions from School to Work in Azerbaijan”, organized by European Training Foundation (ETF), was conducted in park Inn by Radisson Baku Hotel.
The workshop began with a welcome and introductory speech by Mr. Jeroen Willems, Head of Operations, EU Delegation to Azerbaijan. It was followed by the speech of Mr. Elnur Suleymanov, Head of Employment Policy and Demography Department.
Mr. Ilkin Nazarov, ETF National Expert addressed the case of youth situation in the labour market and gave information about existing measures supporting youth transition to work, by shifting everyone’s attention to necessary data and statistics. Later, the workshop continued by the speech of Ms. Eduarda Castel Branco, ETF, Senior Specialist in Labour Market and Qualifications. In her very remarkable speech, she pointed out the objectives of the workshop by identifying important priorities for future policy development and improvement as well as presenting and discussing the major findings, conclusions and recommendations of the current study.
The event lasted for 4 hours and it had a positive impact on the participants. At the end of the workshop, the open discussion was held and reflections were made on the findings of the ETF report. The purpose of the workshop was to discuss possible ways to enhance the youth transition to work.
