On 19-24 November, 2017, Dr. Elza Semedova, Dean of the School of Education, Dr. Ali Huseynli, Head of the Department of Mathematics, and Ulkar Bayramova, project manager of Development centre, participated in series of seminars in Gazi University of Turkey within ERASMUS+ project named “Development of teaching and learning in universities of Azerbaijan”.
Approximately 40 delegates of partner universities from Azerbaijan (Khazar University, Nakhchivan State University, Ganja State University, Sumgayit State University, Baku Slavic University, Azerbaijan University of Languages, Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, Azerbaijan University) and Europe (University of Debrecen (Hungary), Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain), University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna (Austria), Gazi University (Turkey) participated in the seminars.
Within the five-day seminar, the participants gained full information on Gazi University, faculties of the university, organisation of teaching and learning at university, subject laboratories and laboratory experience, new methods of teaching and learning in various lessons, and also participated in various lectures. Moreover, the participants visited Kiziljahamam region of Ankara, where open air geography lessons are organised, and got visually familiar with open air lessons.
The seminars at Gazi University were welcomed by all the participants who gained new experience.
Furthermore, Dr. Elza Semedova had productive meetings with vice-rectors of Gazi University, Chankaya University, Hacettepe University, Middle East Technical University and Ankara University as well as representatives of Institutes of Education and Schools of Education, and discussed some issues such as cooperation and dual qualifications at master and doctoral levels, and joint professional development programs.
Dr. Elza Semedova also visited “Özəl Arı Okulları” high school affiliated with Chanakya University and got familiar with laboratories established within ERASMUS+ project. Dr. Elza Semedova discussed future collaboration between “Dünya” school and “Özəl Arı Okulları” and realisation of joint projects.
In the course of the meetings the delegates of Khazar University gave information about First International Education Symposium named "Global education" to be held at Khazar University 20-21 April, 2018, and handed out posters.
