On October 10th, 2017 a seminar on Ancient Egypt’s culture and history, which holds an important place in Ancient East history books, was delivered for students majoring in History Studies at Khazar University. It is worth noting that the seminar was delivered with the support of History and Archeology Department of Khazar University and Cultural and Educational Center of the Egyptian Embassy. The seminar aimed to give clear information and knowledge to students to major in this sphere in the future, and give them a chance to expand their outlook about the subject of “Ancient East”. The seminar was attended by Firangiz Nasirova, a senior lecturer of English Language and Literature Department at Khazar University, Dr. Roza Arazova, Head of History and Archeology Department, Orkhan Zamanov, a lecturer at History and Archeology Department of Khazar University, as well as Gudrat Ismayilzadeh, the editor-in-chief of “Archeology of Azerbaijan” journal.
Ahmad Sadi Elaidi, Head of the Egyptian Cultural and Education Relations Center greeted the participants of the seminar and gave information about the establishment of the Centre, its activities, cultural relations between Egypt and Azerbaijan and cooperation with Khazar University. He also mentioned that friendship between Egypt and Azerbaijan has long history and that one of the main goals of Egyptian Cultural and Educational Centre is to expand relations between the two states, increase partnership in the field of education, organize teacher-student exchange programs, international scientific conferences and trainings. Taking into consideration the students’ interest in Ancient Egypt civilization, he underlined his high appreciation for the university’s efforts in organization of the seminar at Egyptian Cultural and Educational Centre.
Then, the Head of the Centre delivered a lecture in Ancient Egypt civilization by demonstrating culture and history of Egypt with slide shows and films. Dr. Roza Arazova, head of History and Archeology Department and Gudrat Ismayilzadeh, Editor-in-chief of “Archeology of Azerbaijan’’ journal, gave information about Ancient Egypt and the researches on the field.
At the end, there were open discussions and opinions exchange with the students.
