Khazar University has been actively participating for several years at the International Music Festival devoted to Uzeyir Hajibeyli organised by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. As it has been reported, on September 20, 2017, concert-conference was held at the University’s Marble Hall dedicated to Uzeyir Hajibeyli, the scholar, musician and public figure, within the framework of IX Uzeyir Hajibeyli International Music Festival (18-26 September.
On September 21, a concert was held at the “Dunya” concert hall of the university with the participation of Elisso Bolkvadze, the world-famous pianist, UNESCO Artist for Peace. The concert was attended by the management and staff of the university, students, and foreign guests. Before the concert, Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, gave detailed information about the life and creativity of Uzeyir Hajibeyli to the participants.
At the concert, the works of Uzeyir Hajibeyli, Fikret Emirov, Serdar Farajov, Sevda Rahimova, Haydn and Shostakovich were performed by the Camera Orchestra of the University. Beethoven, Concert No. 1 for fortepiano and symphonic orchestra, Part 3 was performed by Elisso Bolkvadze and Symphony Orchestra of Khazar University.
The art director of the concert was Associate Professor Zulfiyya Sadigova, Honoured Teacher, Head of the Department of Music and Fine Arts and the conductor was Javad Tağızade, the laureate of international competitions, the instructor of Music Academy.
Elisso Bolkradze gave master classes after the concert.
