A scientific seminar-conference, entitled “Introduction to ILLUMINA Next Generation Sequencing", for the students majoring in Biology, young researchers and doctors, was held at Khazar University, in collaboration with Alliance Global (Illumina Inc.), the American "Illumina" equipment supplier for the genome reading.

The seminar was attended by Dr. Irada Khalilova, Head of Biology department of the School of Education, Dr. Zaur Karimov, Parvana Bakshaliyeva, teachers of the department, Ph.D. students and students majoring in Biology studies. Doctors from several hospitals participated in the seminar as well.

The seminar-conference consisted of two parts. Dr. Szabolcs, delivering a speech in the first part, gave detailed information about sequencing methods and results of modern studies conducted in the clinics, science and education. Dr. Florian Graedler, in the second part of the seminar, spoke about oncology panels and HLA ( human leucocyte antigen), genetics and health as well as collection, analysis and application of biological data to enhance human health. During the seminar, broad discussions were held on application methods of Illumina technologies in modern studies.
