A ceremony dedicated to the start of the new academic year was held at Khazar University on 15^th September. The management and staff of the university, newly admitted students and their parents attended the ceremony.

The ceremony began with the performance of the Azerbaijan State Anthem. Professor Hamlet Isakhanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees delivered a speech and congratulated the first year students, spoke about a pure and transparent environment created for the education and spiritual development of the students at the university, informed about the success of the university, as well as the international ratings of world universities. Dr.  Hassan Niknafs, the rector of the university congratulated the students and wished them success in their education.

Dr. Isakhan Isakhanli, Dr. Hassan Niknafs, Dr. Jeyhun Mammadov, Dean of the School of Economics and Management, Dr. Elza Semedli, Dean of the School of Education, and Jabir Khalilov, Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences presented student cards and gifts to the university students, and a memory photo was taken.

Ali Maharramov (specialty of Finance), on behalf of newly-admitted students, said that they would make serious efforts to develop as highly qualified specialists thanks to the favorable conditions created for the students at Khazar University.

The dance groups of the students performed at the concert prepared by the Department of Music and Art of the University, Mehseti Genjevi, the soloist of Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, the instructor of the university performed songs.

The ceremony ended with the invitation of newly admitted students to the lecture halls. They met with faculty deans, heads of departments and staff. They were given detailed information about their specialties and their questions were answered.
