The Council of Higher Education of Turkey (CHE) is determined to recognize the diplomas of Khazar University.

The Council of Higher Education made a decision, at the meeting conducted on May 12, 2016, to directly recognize the diplomas awarded by the first 1000 universities which have been placed in the rankings of Academic Ranking of World University (ARWU), CWTS Leiden Ranking Academic Ranking, QS World University Rankings, Times Higher Education World University Ranking, University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP).

Since 2012, Khazar University has been ranked among the top 600-700 + universities in the rankings of QS World University Rankings. Besides, in 2017, it is the only Azerbaijani university that was placed among the 150 best young (with less than 50 years of experience) world universities.
