On 6 July, the last meeting of the University Academic Council in the current academic year, chaired by Dr. Hassan Niknafs, the rector of Khazar University, was held. In accordance with the agenda of the meeting, the rector made a speech on the results of 2016-2017 Academic year and spoke about the achievements and upcoming tasks.

Based on the results of the year he stated that a group of staff members - Piri Piriyev, Repair and construction department employee; Alovsat Amirbeyli, Director for Public Relations and Media; Javanshir Azizov, instructor at the Department of Mathematics; Rosa Arazova, Head of Department of History and Archeology; Samira Mirzayeva, Dean Assistant, School of Economics and Management; Lidiya Hamidova, instructor at the Department of English language and Literature; Raziya Isayeva, Head of Development Centre; Vurgun Eyyub, Head of Department of Azerbaijani language and Literature – deserve to be rewarded and the awards were presented to them.

Professor Mahammad Nuriyev, Vice President of Khazar University for Academic Affairs, informed that Baba Bayramli, Director of the Center for Alumni Relations, had become a member of the Academic Council and was appointed as the Secretary of the Academic Council.

The deans of faculties – Elza Samadova, Jabir Khalilov, Jeyhun Mammadov, and dean assistant Vafa Aslanova – gave information about the students who are graduating in the current academic year. Baba Bayramli spoke about the textbooks and subject programs presented to be published, discussions on the issue were conducted and relevant decisions were made.

Professor Hamlet Isaxanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees spoke and gave his recommendations concerning some issues. He also wished success to Sevda Salayeva, assistant to the Chairman of Board of Directors and Trustees, who intended to change her job, and presented her an award.

The current issues were also discussed in the meeting of the Academic Council.
