Mohammad Mehdi Zarei, a lecturer and researcher at the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering of Khazar University, received a full scholarship to continue his education at the University of Newcastle in Australia.
Mohammad Mehdi Zarei holds a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Sistan and Baluchestan (Iran). Before joining Khazar University in April of 2014, Mr. Zarei worked for three years as a lecturer in two Iranian Universities: Islamic Azad University of Science and Research of Fras and Marvdasht University. As a lecturer at Khazar University, he taught the following courses to undergraduate engineering students: Introduction to Chemical Engineering, Heat Transfer, Mass Transfer, Thermodynamics, and Reservoir Simulation.
Mohammad Mehdi Zarei’s research interests include chemical process modeling, water treatment, and reservoir simulation. During his time at Khazar University, Mohammad Mehdi Zarei co-founded several laboratories including Chemical and Petroleum Experimental Research Laboratory, Khazar Computational Research Centre, Modeling and Simulation Research Laboratory. He also participated in the establishment of the Chemical Engineering Department.
Mohammad Mehdi Zarei’s international experience includes participation in various conferences, the most recent being the Society of Petroleum Engineering (SPE) Annual Caspian Technical Conference & Exhibition (November 4-6, 2015, Baku, Azerbaijan) and the AIChE Annual Meeting (November 8-13, 2015, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA).
In order to further his knowledge and research at the Chemical and Petroleum Experimental Research Laboratory, Mehdi Zarei decided to pursue a PhD degree. He received a full scholarship from the University of Newcastle in Australia. Upon completion of his PhD study, Mehdi intends to continue the work he started at Khazar University and expand his research.
