On May 16, 2016, students from the Khazar University School of Education participated in the “Multiculturalism in Azerbaijan: History, Essence and Main Characteristics” seminar at the National Azerbaijan Hıstory Museum with the coordination of Associate Professor Roza Arazova, Head of the Department of History and Archeology. At the seminar, students obtained information about perspectives and developments of multiculturalism policy in Azerbaijan. Ravan Hasanov, employee of the Azerbaijan National State Advisory Service for Cross-cultural, Multicultural and Religious Issues, gave a lecture on “The Essence and Legal Foundation of Multiculturalism.” Employees of the Division for International Relations and Academic/Public Issues also made presentations at the seminar.

The National Azerbaijan Hıstory Museum held the seminar as part of an event series because Ilham Aliyev, President of the Azerbaijan Republic, announced 2016 as the Year of Multiculturalism in Azerbaijan.
