On April 26, the Imagine Team comprised of students of the School of Economics and Management of Khazar University carried out the first of a series of events held in the framework of the marketing campaign they are working on as part of their participation in the P2P: Challenging Extremism Program. The P2P: Challenging Extremism Program is supported by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State and funded by the EdVenture Partners (EVP), a peer-to-peer marketing firm.
The first event took place at Dunya School, an affiliate of Khazar University, and consisted of two parts: a presentation session for students and a workshop with parents.
The session for students included interactive games and activities that allowed them to express themselves while learning about various forms of extremism, tolerance, cultural differences, and other important topics. "The Old Man and Tulips” story narrated by the Imagine team showed the youngsters how even a small change could do wonders. The story also emphasized the importance of mutual understanding, kindness, and giving each other compliments. The team also informed the students about a photo contest carried out withinthe marketing campaign and encouraged the students to participate in it.
The event at Dunya School continued with a meeting with the co-founder of the school, Ms. Naila Isayeva, and the Director of the School, Ms. Marufa Madatli, who stressed the importance of the activities carried out by the team and expressed their appreciation of their efforts. A small souvenir, an Imagine mug, was presented to the co-founder of Dunya School.
The workshop with parents consisted of screening a video made by the team which focuses on how parents can affect the futures of their children and their development as an individual. The video was followed by a discussion with the parents.
Team Imagine left the students and the parents with small memorable souvenirs.
Team Imagine is planning a series of events as part of the program. The main event will take place on April 29 in the Marble Hall of Khazar University.
