Bachelor Programs

The DEM offers the Bachelor Degree Programs majoring in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Management, Marketing, and Economics. The requirements for the Bachelors degree at the DEM are composed of three main components that total 256 ECTS:

  • University Requirements 
  • General Education Requirements 
  • Business Foundation and Major Requirements

 

The University Requirements include two main components and give the total number of 54 credits:

English Language includes 30 semester credits of:

  • English Foundation 1 (8 credits)
  • English Foundation 2 (8 credits)
  • Academic English (8 credits) 
  • English for Special Purposes (6 credits)

Azerbaijani Studies includes 24 semester credits of:

  • Azerbaijani Language and Composition (6 credits)
  • Azerbaijani Literature (6 credits)
  • Azerbaijani Culture (6 credits)
  • History of Azerbaijan (6 credits) 

The General Education Requirements provide students with a minimum of 42 credits.

The Humanities courses division of the program includes particular courses in Literature, Language and Linguistics, Philosophy, History, Culture and Civilization, Fine Arts and Art History. Students must take at least two courses with a minimum of 12 credits, 6 credits for each course.

The Social Sciences group in general contains courses in Geography, Political Science, International Relations, Law and Government, Anthropology, Economics, Sociology and Psychology. Students must take at least two courses with a minimum of 12 credits, 6 credits for each course. School recommends as a Social Science course Principles of Macroeconomics.

The Science and Technology component of the General Education Program unites three divisions. Students must take at least three courses with a minimum of 18 credits:

  • Physical Sciences and Mathematics
  • Life Sciences
  • Computer Science

Major Requirements for each major are divided into two groups: Required and Elective courses.

 

Bachelor of Science (BS) in Economics

The program in Economics is primarily designed for the students who want to distinguish themselves in field of applied economics and furnishes students with the professional knowledge necessary to successfully perform the role of business economists in private and public sectors. The program covers activities related to quantitative economic analysis, monetary policy, economic performance and globalization.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance

The program in Finance is designed for students who are interested in careers in the fields of finance, financial analysis, financial management and banking. The program provides a strong awareness of the problems and methods related to financial operations in financial and non-financial institutions.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting

The Accounting program is designed to provide the basic accounting knowledge and skills required for the accounting professionals. The prog­ram encompasses such areas as financial auditing, operational auditing, financial reporting, corporate tax planning, cost analysis and control.

Bachelor of Business Administration (General)

The program in General Business Administration is designed to develop the basic skills required by generalist managers in business and other organizations. The program develops the ability to analyze and resolve administrative and organizational problems in business and other organizations.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Management 

The program in Management is designed to develop the basic skills required by managers in business and other organizations. The program develops the ability to analyze and resolve administrative and organizational problems in production manufacturing and service organizations.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Marketing

The Marketing program is designed to provide the basic knowledge in general marketing, markets and customers relationships, product development, pricing, advertising, promotion and distribution.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Tourism and Hotel Management

The program in Tourism and Hotel Management is designed to provide comprehensive knowledge and experience in destination management, risk and crisis management, sustainable tourism development, tourism operations planning, tourism policy planning, revenue management and operations management in hospitality industry.
