Master of Business Administration (MBA) Programs

At the highest level of business qualifications, Khazar University MBA program offers an intensive management development path. The skills and knowledge developed in the MBA program are applicable to all forms of organization and are useful both to professional managers and to those with entrepreneurial ambitions.
The Khazar University MBA program was developed through close cooperation with Western business schools. To strengthen their instructional skills, almost all faculty members have had in-service training and faculty development at leading European and US universities.
It is due to this background that the Khazar University MBA program enables the faculty and students to explore business problems from a multidisciplinary perspective that emphasizes interpersonal skills and teamwork, develops leadership and entrepreneurial talents, increases global awareness, and improves technological knowledge.
The full-time MBA program runs over a two-year period, with a variety of teaching and learning methods being used - a combination of lectures, seminars, case studies, discussions, business simulations and group activities. For assessment, the program considers a combination of formal assignments, group presentations and written examinations, together with a major project.
Part-time enrollment is designed for students who cannot enroll on a full-time basis. To be eligible for the part-time enrollment students must earn in each semester at least six credits. Part-time students can opt to enroll in full-time MBA classes when available.
Experienced MBA students are provided with the opportunity to use their previous employment experience and relate this to the program material.
The key advantage of the program is that the class schedule accommodates students with full-time employment.

The School offers nine MBA degree options: the general MBA, MBA with specializations in Finance, Accounting, Management, Project Management, Tourism and Hotel Management, Marketing, Mediation, and dual degree program in Management (since 2018 jointly with Braganza Polytechnic University, Portugal).
The general MBA
The program provides students with core business knowledge and at the same time allows them to design a concentration according to their job expectations and area of interest. The program is designed to provide students with advanced knowledge and skills in fields of corporate finance, investment management, risk management, international finance, financial markets and institutions, and policy needed to successfully function as financial managers in competitive financial environment. It also provides in-depth study of quantitative techniques with practical business problem-solving skills.

The MBA in Tourism and Management
The program is designed to develop and boost students' professional knowledge, management and leadership skills in the tourism, and hotel management context. The program places particular emphasis on Information Technology in Tourism and Hospitality, Tourism and Hospitality Operations Management, International Hospitality Management, Sustainable Destination Management, Revenue Management in Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Hospitality Digital Marketing Strategies, and Tourism Policy and Planning.

The MBA in Marketing
The program allows students to increase their knowledge and develop deep expertise in the field of marketing. It also enhances communication, leadership, and decision-making skills and abilities necessary to be successful in building profitable customer relationships, conduct market research and produce, and implement outstanding marketing strategies.

The MBA in Mediation
The program qualifies graduates for senior management or executive positions. Intended to meet the need of the society and business community, the program is designed to develop professionals that can be mediators, negotiators, arbitrators, facilitators, consultants, and ombudsmen with skills and expertise to handle disputes effectively. Audience of the program consists of HR specialists, lawyers, judges, psychologists, sociologists, counselors etc.

The Master students can select a Thesis as their culminating experience in the program. If a student chooses to write a thesis, the thesis shall normally be valued at 12 ECTS. The thesis supervisor and student must determine the topic, resources, and format of the thesis. This has to be approved by the Dean of the School, Director of the Graduate Programs and Head of Department. Credit transfer procedures
A Master student may receive credit for the work accomplished in other recognized institutions that offer a graduate degree in the field in which the work has been completed upon the recommendation of the department and the approval of the Dean of the Graduate School.
