An event titled "Witnesses of Victory: From History to the Future," dedicated to Victory Day, was held on November 6, 2026, at the Hasvet Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, organized by Khazar University's Library and Information Center.
The event was opened with introductory remarks by Sabina Mammadova, Head of the Veterinary Medicine Department of the Hasvet Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, who welcomed the participants and gave the floor to Aytaj Misgarli, Director of the Library and Information Center.
In her speech, Aytaj Misgarli emphasized that the main purpose of the event was to convey the history of our Victory to the younger generation, to recall the honorable combat path of the participants of the Patriotic War, and to preserve historical memory. Speaking about the historical significance of Victory Day, she provided participants with information about the event's guest, Mahir Huseyn, a participant of the 44-day Patriotic War, reserve major, and writer.
The participants then watched a video reel dedicated to Mahir Huseyn's life and combat path.
After the video, Aytaj Misgarli invited the guest to the stage. Unlike the traditional speech format, the event continued as an interview and a warm conversation. Through the questions she put to the guest, Aytaj Misgarli shed light on the events he experienced during the war, the difficulties he faced on the battlefield, the heroism of our soldiers and officers, the unity of our people, and the path that led to the historic Victory. Mahir Huseyn, in turn, shared with the participants the events he witnessed firsthand, his personal experience, and his memories.
The meeting became more engaging and interactive as university staff and students joined the discussion.
Held in an atmosphere of warm conversation and exchange of views, the event aroused great interest among participants. The meeting once again showed that the memories of the living witnesses of our history of Victory play an important role in raising future generations in a spirit of patriotism, preserving national memory, and deeply understanding the significance of our historic Victory.
