A research paper co-authored by Asim Amrahov, a second-year Chemical Engineering student at Khazar University, has been published in the proceedings of the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Chemistry of Complex Compounds, Chemistry, Analytics and Technologies of Noble and Rare Metals: Current Problems and Prospects” held at the National University of Uzbekistan in Tashkent on October 22-23, 2026.
The research, entitled “Complexation behavior of copper(II) with (Z)-1-allyl-3-(2-hydroxybenzylidene)thiourea and its analytical application” was conducted under the scientific supervision of Dr. Tahir Javadzade, Head of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical engineering, in collaboration with researchers from Baku State University.
The study focuses on the synthesis and characterization of a thiourea-based ligand and its complex formation with copper (II) ions. The research combines experimental spectroscopic techniques with molecular geometry optimization to investigate the compound's structural and coordination properties.
