On March 30, 2016, a group of international students representing various countries including Cameroon, Czech Republic, Ghana, Pakistan, Palestine, and Zimbabwe gathered to discuss the creation of the International Students' Union.

The idea to create an association uniting all international students of Khazar University was first suggested during the orientation session held earlier this year, in the beginning of the spring semester. Future meetings of the students will be dedicated to deciding on the structure and main activities of the union.

The meeting was held at the International Affairs Office at the Neftchilar Campus of Khazar University.
