On April 28, 2025, Dr. Sevinc Gambarova, the coordinator of the Department of Languages at Khazar University, delivered an online presentation on the topic “Dialects of the Azerbaijani Language and Common Features in the Kazakh Language (Azerbaycan Dili Ağızları ve Kazak Dilinde Ortak Özellikler)” at the “1st International Symposium on the Language, Literature, and Culture of Balkan Turks” organized by Çağ University in Türkiye. The presentation discussed the common features between the sound system and vocabulary of the Kazakh language and the dialects of the Azerbaijani language, which, despite belonging to the Oghuz branch of the Turkic language family, are based on Oghuz-Kipchak features. It also emphasized the relevance and importance of such studies for the field of Turkology.
