On April 18, 2025, the Yunus Emre Institute in Baku hosted the presentation ceremony of the book “History of Turkic States and Cultures.” The 1,128-page work, which covers Turkic history and culture from the pre-Islamic era to the 20th century, was co-authored by Associate Professor Telman Nusratoghlu, Head of the Department of History and Archaeology at Khazar University, and historian-researcher Akber N. Najaf. The book was published by Chapar Publishing House.
The event was attended by Azerbaijani Members of Parliament Fazil Mustafa, Hikmat Babaoğlu, and Naqif Hamzayev, as well as advisors from the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Azerbaijan, Prof. Dr. Muhittin Macit and Prof. Dr. M. Fatih Bilal Alodalı. Also present were Serdar Gündoğan, Türkiye Maarif Foundation’s representative in Azerbaijan, principals of Maarif and Anadolu lyceums, scholars from the Board of the Center of Analysis of International Relations (CAIR), colleagues and students from Khazar University and other academic institutions.
Acknowledgments were extended to the organizers of the event, including Güven Çolak, Director of the Yunus Emre Institute in Baku, Yusif Ilhanoglu, Director of Chapar Publishing House, and other staff members.
Speakers at the ceremony — Telman Nusratoghlu, Akber N. Najaf, Fazil Mustafa, Hikmat Babaoğlu, Naqif Hamzayev, and others — emphasized the significance of the book in promoting Turkic history and culture and expressed confidence that it would attract great interest among readers.
At the conclusion of the event, it was noted that joint efforts would continue in the future to distribute the book and to further promote knowledge about Turkic culture.
