The article “The Dilemma of Monopoly and Democracy in Azerbaijani Party Politics” by Prof. Vasila Hajiyeva, a lecturer of the Department of Political Science and Philosophy at Khazar University, has been published in “Demokratizatsiya: The Journal of Post-Soviet Democratization” (2024, Volume 32, Issue 3).

The article analyzes the internal structure of political parties in Azerbaijan and the impact of the party system on democracy. The study assesses the internal governance of both the ruling and opposition parties and their potential to contribute to democratic change. According to the article, in order to achieve democratic changes at the constitutional level in Azerbaijan, reforms must first be carried out in the party system.
