On January 31, 2025, Associate Professor Telman Nusratoglu, Head of the History and Archaeology Department, appeared as a live guest on ARB24 television. During the program, the department head discussed Azerbaijan's right to safe, unobstructed passage through Zangezur without customs and border control, based on international law and exclusive historical-political rights. He also noted that in 1929, contrary to the provisions of the Kars Treaty, 12 villages of Nakhchivan were transferred to Armenia.
T. Nusratoglu also discussed Armenia's ongoing military buildup despite the incomplete peace agreement, suggesting their desire to potentially attack Azerbaijan again under favorable geopolitical conditions. He additionally addressed Armenia's attempts to evade compensation payments in international courts for material damages inflicted on Azerbaijan during the occupation period.
