An article co-authored by Associate Professor Telman Nusratoglu, Head of the History and Archaeology Department at Khazar University, and Associate Professor Mehdi Ganjali from Marmara University, titled "An Ottoman in Baku: Muallim Cevdet's Activities in the Society for the Spread of Education and His Role in Azerbaijan's Educational Life" (with an extended English abstract) has been published in Türkiye's internationally indexed "Milli Eğitim" (National Education) journal (Issue 245, 2025).

The article discusses the Darülmuallimin-i Islam, which was established in Baku at the beginning of the 20th century as the first teacher training school on the initiative of H.Z. Tagiyev, and its first director, Muallim Cevdet, who was brought from Istanbul. The article is based on research from both Azerbaijani and Turkish archives.
