Assoc. Prof. Orkhan Valiyev, Head of Political Science and Philosophy Department at Khazar University, participated in a meeting with the former Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Iran, a famous diplomat, orientalist Javanshir Akhundov at the STEM Analytical Center on January 20, 2025. The event began with a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the January 20 tragedy.

At the event, a wide range of topics were discussed on both regional and global scales, particularly Iran-Azerbaijan relations, internal political processes in Iran, the crisis between the West and Tehran in the context of the policy of the new Trump administration, as well as the challenges and risks in the South Caucasus amid the escalation of geopolitical and geo-economic tensions in the Middle East.
