In November 2024, a book titled "Damjili Cave: Investigating the Late Pleistocene to Holocene Human History in the Southern Caucasus" was published by "Oxbow Books," a publishing house specializing in archaeological research and scientific literature worldwide. The book was scientifically edited by Prof. Yoshihiro Nishiaki, Director of the University Museum at the University of Tokyo, Assoc. Prof. Azad Zeynalov, leading researcher at the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology of ANAS, and Dr. Yagub Mammadov, leading researcher at the same institute and instructor at Khazar University's Department of History and Archaeology.
The book focuses on the results of research conducted by the Azerbaijan-Japanese international archaeological expedition at Damjili Cave (located in the administrative territory of Dash Salahli village, Gazakh region) within the Avey State Historical-Cultural Reserve complex between 2016-2023. Ulviyya Safarova, instructor at the Department of History and Archaeology, is a co-author of three chapters, while Orkhan Zamanov is a co-author of one chapter.
It should be noted that Ulviyya Safarova and Orkhan Zamanov were participants in the archaeological research conducted at Damjili Cave, while Dr. Yagub Mammadov was not only a participant but also served as the head of the Azerbaijani side for a period (2022-2023).
