On October 21, 2024, a scientific session titled "Shusha, the Pearl of Islamic Culture - in the Research of Young Linguists" was held at the Institute of Linguistics named after Nasimi of ANAS, organized by the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists. The session was dedicated to the selection of Shusha city as the "Youth Capital of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation."
Associate Professor Baba Maharramli, Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs of the Institute, delivered the opening speech. Dr. Sevinj Gambarova, lecturer at Khazar University's Department of Languages and Literature, presented on "The Position of Shusha Dialect in the Dialect System of Azerbaijani Language," Dr. Dilbar Jamali, senior researcher of the Department of Turkic Languages, presented on "Intellectuals from Shusha," and Ayshan Ismayilli, junior researcher of the Department of Toponymy, presented on "Shusha, the Pearl of Karabakh."
Dr. Ilhami Jafarsoy, head of the Department of Ancient Languages and Cultures, Associate Professor Elchin Ismayilov, head of the Department of Toponymy, and Associate Professor Gatiba Mahmudova, leading researcher of the Department of Turkic Languages, spoke about the significance of Shusha city's selection as the "Youth Capital of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation" for the current year and shared their memories of Shusha.
The scientific session concluded with discussions.
