On October 18, 2024, a seminar on "Nanoparticles Usage in Carbon Capture Technology" was conducted by Ahmed Asimov, a lecturer at the Department of Physics and Electronics at Khazar University, as part of COP29 and Green World Solidarity events. University instructors and students participated in the seminar.
It is not by chance that Azerbaijan was chosen to host events like COP29 and Green World Solidarity. Preventing climate change primarily requires either reducing greenhouse gas emissions to zero or significantly decreasing them. This means transitioning from non-renewable energy sources (coal, oil, gas, peat, various types of bitumen, etc.) to renewable energy (solar, wind, water flows, etc.), which is the main direction of energy transformation.
Ahmed Asimov emphasized the importance of applying nanotechnology to ensure the use of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and compensation for mandatory emissions, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and achieve carbon neutrality. The seminar arouse great interest among students and continued in the form of discussions.
