On May 9-11, 2024, the 4th International Conference on the Philosophy of Language, Literature, and Linguistics, ICPL2024 (ICPL 2024), was held in a hybrid format under the joint organization of Khazar University's English Language and Literature Department and Manisa Celal Bayar University's English Language and Literature Department. The articles included in the conference were sent by researchers from Azerbaijan, Australia, Bulgaria, France, Georgia, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, India, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Malaysia, Netherlands, Oman, Pakistan, Poland, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Türkiye, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States of America, and Uzbekistan.
The opening ceremony of the conference began with the welcome speeches of Prof. Kurt Ay, vice-rector of Manisa Celal Bayar University; Prof. Maryam Ayan, head of the Department of English Language and Literature of MCBU; and Dr. Milana Abbasova, head of the Department of English Language and Literature of Khazar University. Then, national music performed by Manisa Celal Bayar University's music band was presented.
Later, the keynote speakers – Dr. Alan Libert (the adjunct professor of Khazar University/professor at Newcastle University, Australia), Dr. Davud Kuhi (the adjunct professor of Khazar University/professor of Islamic Azad University, Iran), and Prof. Toril Moi (professor of Duke University, England) – delivered their keynote speeches.
After the opening ceremony, researchers from different universities spoke in two sessions with five panels each.
The first day of the conference was devoted to in-person participants, whereas on the second day, online presenters joined and presented their papers. On the last day of the conference, the participants went on a sightseeing tour, immersing themselves in new cultures and experiencing international relations.
