Adjunct Professor Alan Libert of the Department of English Language and Literature has compiled a dictionary of the poorly-known artificial language Oz, which was published by Lincom Europa (Munich) in February. Despite its name, Oz was a serious project designed by Charles Elam Milton to show the advantages of an a priori (built from scratch) auxiliary language. Milton’s 1932 book on Oz lacks a dictionary and is unclear on many points; Libert’s dictionary will help us better understand this unusual language. More information is available at:
