Dr. Bahadir Baysal, the coordinator of Economics and Management of Khazar University participated in the first meeting of tourism-specialized educational institutions organized by Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan in Baku on December 4–5. The event was attended by officials from nine ECO member countries (Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Iran and Pakistan), educational institutions on tourism and representatives of the UN World Tourism Organization.
The meeting consisted of 3 sections 1-connecting, government, academia, and industry: best practices in tourism education, 2-curriculum design: enhancing tourism education for tomorrow's needs and 3-innovation and technology: emerging trends in tourism education.
Discussions were made at the end of the conference.
