On April 7, 2022, the socio-political newspaper "Baku Khabar", global.az and other sites published an appeal of more than 200 Azerbaijani intellectuals to the Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova regarding with the violation of constitutional requirements in the use of the state language.

According to the appeal, during the monitoring conducted by the Center for Philological Research and Language Monitoring, it was found out that 70-80 percent of trade and service facilities in the central streets and avenues of the capital do not use the state language.

The appeal was also signed by Khazar University employees - Alovsat Amirbayli, Director of Public Relations and Media, and Alirza Balayev, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Khazar Khabar magazine and an honored journalist.
