During the 44-day Patriotic War, Azerbaijan established Victory Day by liberating its occupied territories for nearly 30 years. This victory was widely celebrated in our country, as well as in "Dunya" school.
The participants of the event paid tribute to the soldiers and officers who were martyred while liberating our lands from the enemy.
Videos taken from the classrooms named after the martyrs, as well as interviews with the mothers of martyrs and war veterans were shown. Participants of the event watched a play performed by teachers and students of the school, dedicated to the lives of people displaced from their homes and lands, living as refugees for 30 years. The general idea of the play was expressing the reality of the lives of the victims of the conflict and the war via bitter memories of a young girl who lost her father in the First Karabakh War, was left alone with her mother and brother, and the best moments of her childhood were ruined during the life as a refugee and in the example of the fate of his brother, who was heroically martyred in the Second Karabakh War.
After the performance, students and teachers of the school performed a modern choreographic scene in a surreal style dedicated to the memory of the martyred children.
Pupils of Baku Dunya School as well as Sumgayit Dunya School performed at the event dedicated to the Victory Day.
Pupils from both schools recited texts and poems on the victory ceremony, sang heroic songs and danced. The event was attended by war veterans, parents of martyred students of Khazar University, employees of Dunya School who took part in the war, teachers whose sons were at war, Heroes of the Great Patriotic War - soldiers, veterans, mothers and families of martyrs, as well as families of martyrs invited from the regions of
Azerbaijan, administration and staff of Khazar University, employees of the Dunya Educational Complex, and representatives of the Binagadi District Executive Power and the Binagadi District Council of Elders attended.
