On May 25, 2021, Associate Professor Irada Khalilova, the rector of Khazar University, attended a meeting on "Turkish-Azerbaijani educational cooperation" between a delegation led by Professor Musa Yildiz, the rector of Gazi University, Turkey, and rectors of leading Azerbaijani universities.

Opening the meeting, Deputy Minister of Education Firudin Gurbanov greeted the Turkish guests and rectors of the top 5 universities in Azerbaijan. He spoke about the relations established between Turkish and Azerbaijani universities in recent years.

In the end, a protocol was signed between Gazi University and Khazar University. The protocol was signed by Professor Musa Yildiz, Rector of Gazi University, and Irada Khalilova, Rector of Khazar University.
