On June 29, 2021 defence of a dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy written by Khazar University doctoral student Medina Karahan on "Ahmed Agaoglu's work in the literary, socio-political life of Turkey" in the field of philology 5716.01 - Azerbaijani literature approved by the High Attestation Commission operating in the National Museum of Azerbaijani Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi in the Dissertation Council with registration number D 1.31
Nigar Akhundova, an employee of the Azerbaijani embassy in the Russian Federation and Ahmad Bey Agaoglu' s relative also joined the hybrid defense process which was attended by Academician Rafael Huseynov, Chairman of the Dissertation Council, Ali Yavuz Akpinar, the first official opponent, professor of the Aegean University of Turkey, professor Jalil Nagiyev, one of the well-known scientists of the Turkic world, second official opponent, head of the department of world literature of Baku State University, doctor of philological sciences, Associate Professor Shahbaz Musayev, third official opponent, leading researcher of the New Age Azerbaijan Literature Department of the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS, professor Tofig Malikli, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, prominent Turkologist, doctor of philological sciences, Professor Vagif Sultanli, Doctor of Philological Sciences.
After the presentation of the plaintiff, the speeches of the official opponents were heard and discussions were held.
With the unanimous opinion of the Council, it was decided to submit the dissertation to the High Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Rafael Hussein's short article on defense was published on Azpress.az:
