Khazar University staff mourn the passing of Nuru Safarov away, Head of the Department of Physics and Electronics, School of Natural Sciences and Engineering, Doctor of Philosophy in Physics and Mathematics, Specialist in the Physics of Semiconductors. He died on June 9, 2021 at the age of 55 by a sudden illness.
Nuru Safarov was born on October 18, 1966 in Khazar village of Neftchala region of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In 1983, he graduated from Baku city 1№ Physics&Mathematics Oriented Secondary School. In the same year he was admitted to the Faculty of Radiophysics of Dnepropetrovsk State University in the Republic of Ukraine, where he graduated in 1988 with a degree in radiophysics and electronics.
In 1988, he began his career as an engineer in the private design office “Register” of the Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Azerbaijan. During 1990-1994
he got full-time education at postgraduate level at the Institute of Physics. In 1997, he defended his dissertation and was awarded the degree of Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.
Nuru Safarov had been working at Khazar University since 1997. In December of the same year, he was appointed head of the Teaching and Experimental Laboratory of the Department of Applied and Medical Physics.
He had also worked as a teacher since September 1998. In September 2011, he was appointed head of the Department of Physics and Electronics and remained at this position until the end of his life.
Nuru Safarov was awarded the title of Professor of the International Ecoenergy Academy in 2007. He published about 70 scientific articles, and was the author of 5 inventions.
During his term of office at Khazar University, Nuru Safarov achieved to prove himself as a professional, competent department head, considerate colleague, and careful teacher, and his memory will live forever in the hearts of those who know him.
