On March 17, 2021, the British Council organized a live conference on Facebook as the part of the Creative Spark project. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss how to develop the relationship between the university and the industry, how can government help to boost and sustain university-industry partnerships under the Creative Spark Program.
Along with representatives from Azerbaijani universities, employees of the Kent University, Newcastle University, Middlesex University, Barama Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, BP Azerbaijan, Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication attended at the meeting.
The event began with a greeting of Mr. Summer Xia, Country Director of the British Council. Further on, the floor was given to Creative Spark Regional Program Manager Ms. Hande Dicker and head of International Projects on Innovations Division, Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ramil Abbakirov.
At the next stage of the meeting, representatives of Khazar University and Middlesex University, the UK, presented their part Ms. Raziya Isayeva the project partners from Azerbaijan and Dr. George Dafoulas, professor of Middlesex University presented their ideas on the topic. Ms. Isayeva spoke about the dynamics of university-industry collaboration in developing countries, the obstacles, and their solutions.
The event ended with a summary of the final remarks.
