From June 4 to 8, 2018, Khazar University hosted “Be Environmentally friendly” week. To summarize the week, a seminar was held on June 8, and Rovshan Abbasov, the Head of the Department of Geography and Environment, spoke about the works delivered by the department in determining the level of pollution in the atmosphere. R. Abbasov pointed out the most polluted areas in Baku, providing the statistics to indicate the pollution levels. At the end of the event, Associate Professor Irada Khalilova, the Vice-Rector of the University, spoke about the importance of environmental protection, to be performed gradually, not weekly.
