Khazar University International Affairs Office Coordinator Abutab Abbasova was awarded fully funded scholarship to participate in European Forum Alpbach, 2019 between 14 and 28 August. This forum is taking place every summer since 1945, where scholarship holders from all over the world unite with well-known scholars, practitioners, and professionals from different backgrounds to discuss political, social, economic, environmental topics. This year young people from 96 countries were united in Alpbach to discuss ‘Liberty and Security’ issues.

Abutab Abbasova has met and participated in lectures of well-known people which include but not limited to: Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen, Chancellor Brigitte Bierlein, former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, economists and Columbia University professors Joseph Stiglitz and Jeffrey Sachs, Former Director-General of World Trade Organization Pascal Lamy, Spokesperson for EU Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Maja Kocijancic, former Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia in European External Action Service Thomas Mayr-Harting etc. Moreover, she has performed in the International Evening with a group of young people from different countries addressing the artificial gaps that exist in everyday life. She invited the young people to experience European Forum Alpbach.
