On April 12, NIZAMI project info session was held in Baku within the Erasmus + program. The NIZAMI project started its work in October 2015 and was concluded in April of the current year. Within this project, partner universities of Azerbaijan and the European Union, the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Education participated.

The main purpose of the NIZAMI Project info session was to inform the higher education institutions and overall the public about the results of this three-and-a-half-year project.

On April 12, Johan Schitterer, Counsellor of the French Embassy on Cultural Affairs, Parviz Bagirov, Head of National Erasmus + Office, Yagub Piriyev, Deputy Head of the Administration of the Ministry of Education, Academician Rasim Aliguluyev, Academician Secretary of ANAS, delivering their speeches at the info session held in Baku, emphasized the importance of NIZAMI Project in developing the doctoral education in Azerbaijan. Anar Kazimov, Head of the Science Sector of the Ministry of Education, delivered talk on “NIZAMI Project: Achievements and New Perspectives”. As it was highlighted before, one of the most important goals of the NIZAMI Project was to establish doctoral schools at the universities. In order to achieve this goal, only Khazar University have developed its own model of the Doctoral School as a pilot project in Azerbaijan and presented it to partner universities within the second year of the NIZAMI Project and established these Schools during the last year of the Project.

On the NIZAMI Project info session, Khazar University giving a report to the public, provided information on the establishment, structure, mission, goals and operating mechanisms of the doctoral school. Furthermore, the establishment of the Master and Doctorate Students Union in 2017 and the importance of the students' joint meetings within the NIZAMI project at the University was highlighted. The NIZAMI Project info day was attended by Khazar University staff members - Associate Professor Irada Khalilova, the Rector of the University, Raziye Isayeva, Director of the Development Center, Dr. Jeyhun Mammadov, Dean of the School of Economics and Management, Elmar Mustafayev, Head of the Political Science and Philosophy Department and also doctoral students.
