On January 24, 2019, an agreement on scientific cooperation was signed between Khazar University and the Institute of Biophysics, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.

In his speech, Prof. Ogtay Gasimov, Director of the Institute of Biophysics and corresponding member of ANAS, remarked the importance of the agreement and added that the agreement would promote wider collaboration between the parties enabling them to gain vital achievements. Then Assoc. Prof. Irada Khalilova, Vice-rector for Research of Khazar University, made a speech and expressed her satisfaction for collaboration with the Institute of Biophysics and mentioned that the agreement would encourage closer collaboration between the parties and boost the development of education and science.

The meeting was also attended by Karim Gasimov, Dr.Sc. in Biology and Vice-rector of the Institute; Academic Vagif Abbasov, Rector of the Institute of Petrochemical Processes; and Javid Ojaghi, Assoc. Prof. at the Department of Biological Science of Khazar University.
