On January 19, 2019, on National Day of Mourning, Kamran Behbudov, Instructor of the School of Economics and Hotel Management, held a thematic tour “January 20 – A road to Independence” for the students majoring in Tourism and Hotel Management.

The thematic tour was carried out as a walk from “Elmler Akademiyasi” metro station directly to the Alley of Martyrs.

During the tour, students were informed about the historical truths of Azerbaijan which had occurred since 1988. Participants also visited the grave of Heydar Aliyev, National Leader. Participants were informed about the exceptional role of Heydar Aliyev in Azerbaijan's independence.

Students of Tourism and Hotel Management specialties were also involved in a small workshop on "How to speak about the history of independence and historical monuments to tourists".

Activists of "Patriots' Club" of school # 167, Yasamal district, also joined the tour.
