On January 16, 2019, representatives of Petronas Office in Azerbaijan, a Malaysian company which is one of the leading oil and gas companies in the world, visited Khazar University to meet Dr. Hassan Niknafs, rector of the university. Staff members of the International Affairs Office Ms. Turan Jafarova and Ms. Lamiya Panahova also participated in the meeting. The meeting took place on University’s Nefcthiler campus.

Ms. Sheyda Mehdiyeva, Head of HR and Corporate Services Department, Aysel Allahverdiyeva and Ali Huseynov, staff members of Petronas participated in the meeting. During the meeting, Petronas representatives stated their interest in cooperation with Khazar University and involving the students of Khazar University to Petronas Educational Sponsorship Program. Within the program, several students from Khazar University will receive an opportunity to study Chemical Engineering, Oil and Gas Engineering and Oil and Gas Geology at a bachelor’s level at Petronas University of Technology located in Malaysia. Selection of students will be conducted by Petronas Office in Azerbaijan.

Next visit of Petronas representatives to Khazar University and their meeting with students is planned in February.
