On December 26, 2018, an event was held at Khazar University on the occasion of the retirement of Assoc. Prof. Rafig Ahmadov, a distinguished educator of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Delivering a speech at the event, Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli, Founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, reviewed Rafig Ahmadov’s 22-year career at Khazar University. Throughout these years Rafig Ahmadov worked in various positions including Head of the Department of Computer Sciences, Dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vice-rector for Education, Vice-rector for Management and Students Affairs, Director of Institutional Research, and Representative of Rector in Central Campus. Fulfilling his obligations professionally he proved to be an expert. Rafig Aliyev has contributed immensely to the national and international prestige of Khazar University as a consequence of which Khazar University can maintain a decent place in international ratings. Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli mentioned that Rafig Ahmadov had gained huge respect due to being sincere, patient and caring. Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli expressed his gratitude to Rafig Ahmadov for his productive career and wished him a good rest, strong health and long life.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Hassan Niknafs, rector of Khazar University; Prof. Mahammad Nouriyev, vice-rector for Academic Affairs; Dr. Isakhan Isakhanli, vice rector for Administration and Student Affairs; Alovsat Amirbeyli, Director for Public Relations and Media; Associate Professor Jabir Khalilov, Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences; Dr. Elza Semedli, Dean of the School of Education; Alirza Balayev, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Khazar Review journal told about Rafig Ahmadov's diverse aspects of his university career, as well as his personal qualities.
Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli and Dr. Hassan Niknafs presented Rafig Ahmadov with a certificate of gratitude, gift and a bunch of flowers.
At the end, Rafig Ahmadov thanked the university administration and participants for organizing the event and memory photos were taken.
