On December 27, 2018, the event related to International Solidarity Day of Azerbaijanis and New Year was held in Marble hall of Khazar University. The management and staff of the university, foreign instructors and guests attended the event.

Speaking at the event, Professor Hamlet Isakhanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees; Dr. Hassan Niknafs, rector of the University; Associate Professor Irada Khalilova, vice rector for Research; Dr. Isakhan Isakhanli, vice rector for Administration and Student Affairs and other staff members spoke about the achievements earned during the year, congratulated the staff and wished them further success.

At the event, Prof. Nadeem Fazal, a professor of Chicago State University, Fulbright researcher of the academic year 2017-2018 in Azerbaijan, was awarded with a Certificate of Gratitude for conducting seminars and workshops on producing research papers and methods of research for Khazar university MA and PhD students.

During the event, a song and poetry contest was held among the departments of the university and the winners were rewarded. Participants were presented with a concert program by the Chamber Orchestra (artistic director – Zulfiyya Sadigova, Head of the Department of Music and Fine Arts, honored teacher, pianist) of the University and songs performed by the choir composed of the university staff. The associates danced and entertained, and the event ended in a positive mood.
