On December 8 and 9, 2018, within a series of law enlightenment measures, another training on the topic of “Prohibition of discrimination and the approach of European Court of Human Rights” took place at the Law Training Center. The training was attended by students and graduates of Baku State University and the Academy of Public Administration, as well as Khazar University students.
Upon introduction of trainers and trainees, International Association of Lawyers conducted a training which covered the following topics. The 1st-day training included women (human) rights: gender equality, gender stereotype and prohibition of gender discrimination; national law prohibiting discrimination; regulations by the European Court of Human Rights regarding family violence: 1. Defence commitment (Articles 2 and 3); 2. Research commitment: (Articles 2, 3 and 8). The 2nd-day training covered the following topics: proofs; protection means; conviction and its execution; accusation on sexual issues and courtroom management; communication with female witnesses and defendants. The training was quite interactive and caused great interest of the participants. The training was conducted by Konul Gasimova, a member of the European Human Rights Association who functioned as a lawyer at the European Court of Human Rights, and Ulviyya Hasanova, a lawyer who worked for national and international organizations.
