On November 29, 2018, a forum “Transition to Knowledge-Based Economy: Potential Opportunities” took place in Azerbaijan State University of Economics. The forum was organized by UNEC International School of Economics (ISE) and “High Tech Park” LLC with support of “Bank Respublika”.

Dr. Elsevar Ibadov and Dr. Shahriyar Mukhtarov, Instructors of the School of Economics and Management of Khazar University, participated in the forum.

University-state-industry (U-S-I) cooperation and possible development potential were widely discussed in the forum. Moreover, the application mechanism of the university-state-industry model within the knowledge economy as well as an innovation ecosystem and technology transfer was also debated. Then participants delivered speeches on new educational paradigms in the knowledge economy: changing role of universities and the economic and institutional framework of the knowledge economy. The position of education and institutional framework in the formation of knowledge economy was also a topic of discussion in the forum.

Upon a final discussion among the participants, certain proposals were made on establishment and development of knowledge economy in Azerbaijan.

The forum was attended by representatives from the public and private sectors.
