Presentations on “Establishing a tourism entity on the base of a historical building” is held

On October 21, 2018, the first-year students of the School of Economics and Management of Khazar University, delivered presentations on the topic of “Establishing a tourism entity on the base of a historical building”. Sabuhi Ahmadov, PhD in History and Instructor of the Department of History and Archaeology, suggested that a project should be designed on transforming Ramani castle, a unique Medieval monument, into a tourism entity. Students presented ideas with regard to creating a touristic infrastructure and a museum exposition in the castle as well as financial issues and PR campaign.

The students underlined some special points along with general aspects of the issue. Kanan Ismayilov noted that a shuttle service to the monument needs to be arranged. Aytan Isayeva and Fatima Valizadeh, who had taken photos of the monument, suggested reconstructing the monument and providing visitors with a professional guide and added that a show like “Ford Bayard” should be held in order to attract more attention to the castle. Upon visiting the monument, Jeyhun Safaraliyev and Parviz Zulfugarov proposed establishing a park around the monument as well as an exposition on a military history in the castle. Through social network and websites, Jeyhun and Parviz had gained some information about the impression of foreigners. Ramil Sayidov underlined that it was important to promote the castle through PR campaigns and promotion videos.

Considering the fact that the castle has been used as a set for shooting movies, Elchin Hamidov suggested putting relevant stands in the monument. Considering restricted interior of the castle, Gulnar Gasimli proposed using 3D virtual reality glasses. Nariman Rasulov considered establishing restaurants with national concepts in and around the castle. Considering the highland position of the castle, Rufat Shirvanli and Mehti Gambarov, suggested building ancient style hotels nearby and establishing a souvenir market around the monument.
