On October 27, 2018, a presentation and “Signature day” of a poetry book entitled “You are my Past, you are my Present, you are my End” by Gardashkhan Azizkhanli, a prominent poet and instructor of Khazar University, was held at Azerbaijan National Library named after Mirza Fatali Akhundov. The event was dedicated to 60th anniversary of the poet.
The event was organized on a joint initiative of Azerbaijan Union of Writers and National Library. Participants became familiar with an exhibition entitled “Gardashkhan Azizkhanli-60” in which the books authored and edited by the poet were demonstrated.
Musa Gasimli, Member of National Assembly; Rustam Kamal, D.Sc. in Philology; Latif Shukurov, PhD in History; Ilgar Fahmi, a poet-playwright; poets - Ajdar Ol, Shahin Musaoghlu, Khanamir, Yusif Savalan as well as Ilham Ismayil, a Karabakh war veteran, delivered speeches about the career of Gardashkhan Azizkhanli.
Aytan Asgarova, Ayshan Mustafali, Saida Jabarova, Aytaj Hasanova, Pinar Mammadzadeh, Nazrin Ismayilli, Sakina Alekberova, as well as Aydan Mehdiyeva, Nazrin Aghazadeh, Shabnam Hashimli, Fateh Shikhlar, Nilufar Taghiyeva, Aydan Pasha, pupils of "Zekalar" Lyceum, and Ibrahim Ahmadov, a fifth-grade pupil of school #12 of Nizami district, performed literary compositions.
Gardashkhan Azizkhanli shared his views on the book and expressed his gratitude to the participants.
At the end of the event, “Waving Black Sea”, a masterpiece by Ahmad Javad and Uzayir Hajibeyov, was sung jointly by the participants which contributed special splendour to the event.
